Francis is dead, RIP
Jorge Mario Bergoglio, whom many knew as 'Pope Francis,' has gone to his reward. What next?

Jorge Mario Bergoglio, whom many knew as 'Pope Francis,' has gone to his reward.
The Vatican has announced that Jorge Mario Bergoglio died at 7.35am on Monday, 21 April 2025, aged 88, following his recent hospitalisation for double-pneumonia.
The Vatican’s Press Office released the following:
A short while ago, His Eminence Cardinal Farrell announced with sorrow the death of Pope Francis with these words:
“Dear brothers and sisters, it is with deep sorrow that I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.
At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the Father’s house. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church.
He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially toward the poorest and most marginalized.
With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the Triune God.”
Italian Freemasonry have issued a statement mourning Francis as a kindred spirit:
While Francis wreaked an unbelievable amount of damage to souls, through his false claim to the papacy—aided and abetted even by traditionalists who should have known better, and concluded that he was simply a usurper—we should nonetheless pray for his soul. Indeed, this should be the first action upon hearing this news
If he managed to repent before going to his judgement, then in spite of everything, he is now one of us, a brother and a fellow Catholic. It seems probable that he will be in Purgatory for a very long time, and is in need of our prayers.
If he did not repent, then the good Lord will no doubt apply whatever fruit arises from our prayers on some other poor soul in Purgatory.
What next? Cardinal Aveline?
The cardinals of the Conciliar/Synodal Church will soon begin to assemble in conclave to elect Francis’ successor. Who knows what this conclave will produce.
At present, Jean-Marc Cardinal Aveline, president of the French Bishops’ Conference is rumoured to have been Francis’ favourite cardinal to succeed him. He is not mentioned by the secular press, which (if anything) is a mark in favour of a possible election, rather than against it. You can read an analysis of this man’s “theology” below:
Part I: Cardinal Aveline is rumored to be the next pope. But is he Catholic?
Part II: Francis’ ‘favorite’ Cardinal Aveline and his subversion of Christ’s role as mediator
Part III: Conclave frontrunner Cardinal Aveline redefines evangelization as ‘dialogue’
Aveline aside, we do not rule out the outside and unlikely possibility that these men may, somehow, elect a Catholic—who might in turn abrogate Vatican II and its accompanying false religion.
There could be strong arguments (at least, in time) for concluding that a man who does this is a true pope. Although a man's election in conclave may not have been valid, if he is a Catholic, his election could be “convalidated”, or “healed in the root” or rendered legitimate by the universal and peaceful acceptance of the Church (if he receives such acceptance).
However, there are also strong arguments saying that a man who fails to do all this would not be the pope. He would be merely the successor of Paul VI, not that of St Peter.
By divine law, a man who is not a Catholic, and does not profess the Catholic faith or is a heretic, schismatic or apostate, can no more be elected pope than a woman, a child, or an insane person.
Without some positive action to the contrary, such a man should be considered as inheriting the heresy, schism and new religion of Paul VI (as well as the apostasy of Francis) and thus incapable of being the Roman Pontiff.
This is discussed below:
It is also expressed in satirical form below:
Are we all sedevacantists now?
We are about to hear the same joke a thousand times: “We're all sedevacantists now.”
How funny. But no, “we're” not. Sedevacantism is predicated not just on a vacant see, but the Church's teaching on the papacy and her own constitution.
Many who are chortling about how "we're sedevacantists now" do not accept this doctrine and theology, which is why they will swiftly accept whoever is elected—even “Pope Susan.”
RIP Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

May God have mercy on his soul and mercy on all of us that we might finally get a Pope to rule the Church.
Francis’s death gives us an opportunity to educate R&R/Catholics on what is required to be elected Pope so that they won’t accept a false election.
Let us pre-empt and remove the recognise from their position before it has a chance to take hold.
