And now for something a bit lighter than usual…

Introduction

God holds each of us in the palm of his hand. He is closer to us than we are to ourselves. The most powerful enemies of God on this earth are powerless in the face of grace and the divine plan.

Saul was turned into St. Paul. What could become of the great men seeking the overthrow of God’s order?

“Lord, we know what we are, but know not what we may be.” Hamlet 4.5

For the sake of keeping everything in one place, we are publishing this third (and probably final) part of a short fictional series, previously published elsewhere, imagining what could happen with the power of prayer.

Any resemblance to real-life figures, organisations or events is obviously completely coincidental and in your own head.

Chapter III – “Remember your oaths”

The giant screen on the wall of President Dustin Thursdeau’s office flashed into life, and there appeared the bald head and the wrinkled, jowly face of his one-time mentor, Jean-Claude Schlob.

Schlob was still wearing the robes and the leather waistcoat of the Lodge ceremonies.

Two more hideous and wrinkled faces appeared on the screen – Schlob’s assistants and enforcers.
