So would Archbishop Lefebvre be a sedevacantist today after what has gone on in the NO church since he wrote in 1988? Actually, I don't see how he couldn't come to that conclusion with all of the heretical teachings and public acts of idolatry JPII did.

Archbishop Lefebvre would be a Sedeplenist. He would see that his old friend, Bishop Michel-Louis Guérard des Lauriers was correct and still is according to Archbishop Vigano.

That position is illogical. If a true pope can not only teach heresy but work to destroy the true Catholic faith, which is what all of the "popes" since John XXIII did, the papacy is a fraud.

Elaine, thank you for the correction!

It should not read Sedeplenist but SEDEPRIVATIONIST. Sedeprivationism recognizes all papal claimants since 1958 as false popes.

Thank you for publishing this. I often sit back and wonder what would any of the preConciliar popes say about the Church hierarchy at this time and the dismissal of their solemn teachings. The closest I can come is reading the good Archbishop's thoughts on the matter with their characteristic prudence but seemingly inevitable conclusions.

From an old John Daly article:

“No one can be sure that, if Archbishop Lefebvre were alive today, he would not be a sedevacantist. No one can be sure that he would be one either. But one thing that seems highly improbable is that he would have adopted the anodyne style of Bishop Fellay and the ruling left-wing of the Society for whom in our days expressions such as “excommunicated antichrists” is more likely to be an allusion to sedevacantists than to the apparent occupant of the Roman See. And another equally improbable notion is that he would have been deceived into taking Josef Ratzinger, whom he cordially detested, for a sincere friend of traditional Catholicism.”

This question is not on the immediate article but noticed when opening wmreview, org.

Are you, WMREVIEW.org, aware that your association with AMAZON.COM contributes to abortion for their female employees? AMAZON.COM has publicly stated that the organization will assist their pregnant female employees in obtaining an abortion when requested. I am hoping that you have checked into this tragedy and found that AMAZON has reversed its policy.
