“Fundamentally, I believe this wasn’t about legal or financial misconduct,” Westen said, “but rather about differences of opinion regarding the editorial voice of LifeSiteNews.”
Of this, I have no doubt (ie., openness to sedevacantism).
But he then said:
“After thanking supporters, Westen promised a forthcoming plan to address concerns raised about LifeSiteNews’ editorial direction…”
That “plan” (the central issue of which will be LSN’s future policy on sedevacantism) will determine whether LifeSiteNews has been absorbed by Trad Inc. despite Westen’s return, or whether he will maintain his editorial integrity.
Sometimes it’s better not to take the money and retain integrity, than fall under the thumb of donors who can hold an organization ransom with their wallets.
The whole thing seemed to be coming to a head ever since Gaspers attempted to rebut McCusker’s series on the illegitimacy of Francis’s pontificate.
Gaspers was eaten alive, and the result was that R&R came away looking like a false solution, while sedevacantism gained adherents from the internal strength of the arguments
So just as on any Catholic forum, concerned parties on the other side lobby the owner to have their adversaries banned, thereby eliminating their voice:
“If you can’t beat them, ban them.”
I’ve been banned over there for 3 months, was briefly restored the day Westen returned, then quickly rebanned.
Mr. Westen has a choice to make: Numbers and money vs journalistic integrity.
Seems odd to me that Jalsevac is still there publishing articles and carrying on as though nothing ever happened. Normally when a coup against the emperor failed, the plotters were held responsible. A house divided cannot stand. But if there was division before, it must be very awkward around the water cooler now!
Time will tell but certainly LSN has been damaged by this debacle and trust has been lost. Hopefully can be recovered quickly with decisive action cleaning house.

Hopefully that’s not what’s being attempted here.
